Ernest C Hajek

Ernie was born in 1912 in Nebraska and moved to North Dakota early in his life. He moved to Everett in 1950 with his wife, Gladys, and daughter, Donna. Ernie worked as a butcher and a gardener and eventually opened his own landscaping and gardening company, Ernie’s Gardening Service. He served residents and businesses in and around Everett for many years. His active life and his love of gardening continued into his 90’s as he meticulously cared for his beautiful yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings and his wife of 68 years, Gladys.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Pedersen, son-in-law Dick Pedersen, brother, Frank Hajek of Pendleton, OR, granddaughter Kim Griffis and her husband, Tim Griffis, and great-grandchildren Logan and Elleree Griffis, and many more extended family members whom he loved.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain View Rehabilitation and Care Center for the care and love they showed Ernie throughout the years he lived there.

A private family burial is planned. At his request, there will no other funeral services.
