Emily Ann Hickman, (Ann) 64, of Mukilteo, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2015. Born in Watertown SD in 1950 she spent her childhood in Rapid City. She earned a BA in Social Work at Chadron State College in 1972. Ann then joined the U.S. Army at Fort Carson, Co and was honorably discharged in 1977. In 1980 she went to work for the VA Administration in Albuquerque, NM and also obtained an MBA from the University of New Mexico. After relocating to Mukilteo In 1990 she continued to work for the VA, retiring in 2005.
Ann loved sports and officiated for fast pitch softball at the junior high, high school, and NCAA levels. Ann also enjoyed working in her yard, being outdoors, traveling and reading. Her three grandchildren were the joy of her life. Ann suffered many hardships but never lost hope.
Ann was proceeded in death by her parents, Elroy Tassler and Ardith Allers, her step-father Bernard Allers, and her son, Christopher Hickman. She is survived by sister Ginger Thorsgaard, brothers Steven and Lynn Allers, daughter Lori Kingsley, son Jared Hickman, and grandchildren Kathryn, Sarah and Isaac Kingsley.
Funeral services will be Tue. April 14th at the LDS Church, 11001 Harbour Pointe Blvd, Mukilteo, WA 98275. Doors open at 3:30, service at 4:00 with reception immediately following. Graveside service will be Fri, April 17th at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Co at 11:30.
