It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Aileen Yelle on November 15th, 2023 at the age of 87.
Donna was born Oct 2nd, 1936 in Everett WA. She attended Everett High School where she met Ron Yelle, the love of her life, and married soon after graduation. They kept those vows for 68 years.
Mom’s faith and the catholic church were very important to her. She was active and involved in both the church and school through the years, volunteering, singing in the choir, serving as PTA President and teaching art classes at the school.
Mom was a very animated person, full of facial expressions that spoke volumes of what she was thinking, many times before she spoke. She loved creating art, and was a very talented artist who loved painting, pottery and creating clay figures to name a few. She also had a fashion sense about herself and wow, did she ever love shoes!
Mom was always at Dad’s side and supported him in all his endeavors and with the family business. She provided love, encouragement, counseling and understanding. She endured lonely days, sleepless nights, risks taken, battles lost and victories shared. It was her strength and support that was so necessary for our father to succeed.
Mom loved spending her summers at their cabin on Lake Roesiger, enjoying family gatherings and entertaining friends. She liked to travel, from the Hawaiian Islands to her many adventures in Brazil while visiting her son John and his family. They spent many years traveling the open road in their motorhome and made some wonderful friends along the way.
She especially loved the holidays and having the family over to her home to celebrate -- that was her happy place. She was much loved and will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Simon and Vada Newland, grandchild Margret, and brother George. Donna leaves behind her loving husband Ron, children & spouses Chris & Renee, Vada & Dale, Jamie & Serena, John & Neila, grandchildren Josh, Allison, Jessica, Amanda, Joneia, Sarah, Leila, Katie, 9 great-grandchildren and her brother Peter.
A service will be held at Our Lady of Hope Church, 2501 Hoyt Ave, Everett, on November 27th at 11:00 A.M. with a light lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Vincent DePaul or St Jude Children’s Hospital.
