Carol Mae Eller, age 95, of Everett, Washington passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
Carol Mae Eller, 95, was born December 4, 1929 in Yakima WA. She was the daughter of Payson & Ethyl Tozier.
Carol’s father was in the military so they moved around. When she was a teenager her father was transferred to Lancaster CA. After WWII he was transferred to Geiger field in Spokane where she graduated from High School.
Carol met her husband John through mutual friends and were married for 36 years. They traveled to Mexico, Hawaii and Las Vegas. Every year they would rent an apartment in Mexico for a few months with other friends from the Seattle area. They enjoyed the fresh seafood, drinks and sun with all their friends. Carol made new lasting friendships wherever she went.
She had so many talents – painted china, watercolor and oil painting, pottery, sewing and she loved to cook.
Carol had a green thumb like no other for house plants. She had one of the largest Christmas cactuses that would bloom several times a year. She would work her magic and bring back life to any type of plant.
Her biggest love was to be with family and friends for birthday and holiday celebrations and to plan spontaneous dinner parties for 20+ people. Carol was always ready to party. It was 5’oclock somewhere.
Carol’s happy place was over at the cabin on Hood Canal. If she wasn’t on the beach picking oysters or clamming she was cracking crab. She loved being out on the water. If not enjoying all the seafood she would sit on the deck and enjoy a glass of wine while reading a good book or visiting with one of the many friends she welcomed to the cabin. She spent many hours walking the beach with her loyal 4-legged companion Sheila. They were inseparable.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, John Eller Jr.; daughter, Dr. Mary Gosslee; parents, Payson and Ethyl Tozier; sister, Maryon Tozier.
Carol is survived by her son Norm (Kerrie) Gosslee; grandson, Jeff (Rachel) Gosslee; great-grandsons, Slate Gosslee and Kolston Gosslee.
She was an avid animal lover and had a visit every morning on her deck in Magnolia from her neighborhood squirrel “squirrelly”. She had peanuts ready for him whenever he appeared along with her hummingbird feeders filled for her birds to enjoy. Carol was a member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASCPA).
Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma (GG) – you will be missed and forever in our hearts. We love you!
