She was born in Everett on July 9, 1928, to Paul and Louise Jackson. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1946.
On February 18, 1949, she married Ralph McDougall, the love of her life, in Mt. Vernon. Together they had two daughters, Linda and Lauri. Betty was fulltime homemaker and worked part-time at Walt’s Milk House and Hallmark before she retired to enjoy her family and friends. Her interests included meticulous knitting, wood carving, and ceramics. She was a loving, selfless and organized mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Ralph in 1991 and her sister, Pauline Nelson.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Lennox and daughter and son-in-law Lauri and Jim Hagglund; grandson Tim Lennox; granddaughter Alauna (Eric) Cliffton; grandson Paul Hagglund; sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Lowell Norlie; great-grandchildren Holly, Clayton, Saige and Skylar; two great-great-grandchildren; and a nephew and five nieces.
Betty’s memorial service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 8, at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4504 Broadway, Everett.
