Audrey Raymond, Age 98, passed away March 21, 2017 in Wenatchee, Washington. She was a long time resident of time Everett area where she was a piano teacher for many years. Shortly after her husband passed away in 2005, she moved to Wenatchee to be closer to her family. She was born Audrey Lucille Gay on September 7, 1918 in New Westminster, British Columbia.
At a young age, her family moved to the Pacific Northwest where her father August Gay managed a number of lumber mills. For a time they lived in the Walker-Ames home in Port Gamble where Audrey said she use to send messages back and forth to a neighbor girl on a string between houses. She graduated from Annie Wright Seminary in 1936, and later from the University of Washington. She married John (Jack) Raymond from Libby, Montana, and they eventually moved to Mukilteo, where they lived on five acres on Goat Trail Road.
She is survived by her son John, daughter in law Sandy; granddaughter Juanita; great granddaughter Hailey Rose; and sister in law and Anne and Alfred Gay. She is remembered for her music, her strength during difficult times, and her cackling laugh while among other things, watching Victor Borge and the Jackie Gleason show. She will be dearly missed.
