Wilma Jean Lee, 85, passed away at Oasis Dementia Care on Friday, December 23, 2022. Born in Belton, Kentucky, Wilma grew up on Evansville's Westside and graduated from F. J. Reitz High School in 1955. Miss Lee was a member of Howell General Baptist Church and volunteered at the Howell General Baptist Church Food Pantry. After retirement from Mead Johnson/ Bristol Myers Squibb in the Pharmaceutical department, Wilma traveled to all 50 states and spent a month in Europe with members of her family. She was a member of the Howell Booster Club, Howell Neighborhood Watch Association, Wings of Lincoln Mill RV Club and received a certificate of completion from the Citizens Academy in Fall of 2009.
Wilma spent the past three years as a resident of Oasis Dementia Care. She met new friends and loved to play Bingo. She was a frequent visitor to GiGi’s kitchen where she would assist those cooking by sampling what was made.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Alice Moseby and Laurean Lee; brother, Johnny; and sisters, Nancy Newman and Mary Crowley.
She is survived by her nieces, Laura (Mark) Smith, Chandler, IN; Trisha (Steve) Greenwell, Owensville, IN; Ame Eichkoff, Chicago, IL; Teresa Whitledge, Evansville, IN; Karen Duncan, Evansville, IN; Lisa Newman, The Villages, FL; Robbyn (Keith) Ferguson, Evansville, IN; Debbie (Mike) Seib, Mooresville, IN; Cara (Vince) Fandel, Fruita, CO; Christina , Houston, TX; Carrie Lee, Houston, TX; nephews, David Whitledge, Evansville, IN; Dirk Eichkoff, Evansville, IN; and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Alexander Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2100 W Illinois St, Evansville, IN 47712. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. with Pastor Terry Gamblin officiating with entombment to follow at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Dr, Evansville, IN 47720.
