He graduated in 1944 and was immediately drafted into the US Army, serving in WWII and the Battle of the Bulge. William arrived in the French Mediterranean port on his 19th birthday. His bravery allowed him to become an incredible example of patriotism. After he served, William married his wife, Doris, and was a devoted husband to her. He spent his career in the insurance business and was an active participant in his community and church. William was a member of Boeke Road Baptist Church. His humility was instrumental in keeping his Christianity strong.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lee, and sister, Ila Lee.
He is survived by his brother, Aubrey Lee, and nieces.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Boeke Road Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Gayle Russ, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
