Waneta "Neta" Hart

She worked as a secretary to the principal at both Glenwood Grade School and Oak Hill Middle School. After retirement, she substituted with office work for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation. Neta was very organized and detail oriented. She worked long hours and was very dedicated. Neta was a member of Indiana Educational Secretaries Association and was a long time member of Northeast Park Baptist Church where she served as treasurer and sang in the choir. She loved to sing. Neta enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading the Evansville Courier from front to back. The greatest joys in her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Neta is survived by her husband of 70 years, Arthur Hart, Jr.; son, Steve Hart (Sharon); grandchildren, Stephanie Weeks (Beau) and Brad Hart (Jenna); great-grandchildren, Corbin and Brennan Weeks; and special friend, Susan Fisher.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Envive Healthcare of Evansville and Gentiva Hospice.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Alexander East Chapel with Rev. Dennis Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from Noon to service time at the funeral home.
