He worked at the Evansville Waterworks Department for 30 years. He was a member of the River City Eagles and the VFW Post 2953 Auxiliary. He loved horse racing and NASCAR.
Vendal was preceded in death by his wife, Anna R. Bowman, in 2000.
He is survived by his son, Donald W. Bowman of New Baden, IL; step-daughter, JoAnn Woodward of Newburgh; sisters, Bernice Curtis (Richard) and Barbara Chaeney, both of Evansville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 30, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Joseph Easley, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
