Thomas M. Speer

Thomas served in the US Navy in Submarine Service. He was a long time member of Old North UMC, and active in NATA- National Air Transportation Association. In 1963 he came to Evansville and founded Tri-State Aero with Eldon Brasel which he owned and operated until 2000. Thomas enjoyed restoring classic cars, and flying was his passion.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria (Runge) Speer; son, Charles Andrew “Chuck” Speer; daughter, Rebecca Lee “Becky” (Speer) Gaiser; grandchildren, Mia Allison Speer, and her mother Lise, Kendall Paige Speer, and Evan Dean Kellems; brother, Larry Speer; sister, Margaret Ralston; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday November 8, 2022 at Old North UMC, officiated by Rev. Don Ashton and Rev. Mike Monahan. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 8, 2022 at Alexander North Chapel.
