For the past 45 years, Terry worked with horse farms throughout the south. He also worked with African and Asian elephants. His most recent job was working for a family animal farm in Ocala, FL. Terry’s love for animals was endless, and working with them was his lifelong passion. Terry was the kind of man that would do anything for others long before doing things for himself. Many friends and family members have shared through social media what kind of man he was and what he meant to them. For that, the family is grateful.
Terry is survived by his five brothers, Ron (Mary Ellen) Wire of Mt., Vernon, IN, Randy Wire, Gary (Diane) Wire and Ken (Sandy) Wire, all of Evansville, IN, and Jim Wire of Chandler, IN; sister, Connie (Patrick) Hommrich of Haubstadt, IN; uncle, Tommy (Helen) Hampton of Evansville, IN; aunts, Peggy (Chuck) Bauer of Dade City, FL and Pat (Bob) Wootton of Evansville, IN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit Sunday, April 9, 2017, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, at Alexander West Chapel.
The family would like to thank Marcio Palacia, her family and staff for making Terry part of their family. Thank you also to the staff at Oakhurst Center of Ocala for the care they gave.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Terry Wire Memorial Fund, c/o Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Dr., Evansville, IN 47720. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderWestChapel.com.
