Stephen Ray Coan

Steve received his GED through service in the U.S. Army, where he served his county in Vietnam for 18 months. He worked as an HVAC Technician for many years. Following retirement, he enjoyed working on and making things. His hobbies included playing guitar, hunting and fishing. Steve was a jack-of-all-trades.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Tom, and Phillip; sisters Leona, Dorothy, Joyce, and Nellie; and his parents.

Steve is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cecelia (Gerteisen) Coan; son, Brian Reising of Lawrence, MA, and son, Matthew Gerteisen of Auburn Hills, MI; and numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.

Friends may visit on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St., Evansville IN.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery - Chapel of Remembrance, 2200 Mesker Park Dr., Evansville IN, officiated by Pastor Tim Garrett. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the Cemetery Chapel.
