He served as medic in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post 1114. Stanley retired from CSX railroad after 36 years. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed playing golf, swimming, diving, spending time with family, and square dancing with his wife Faye.
Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Faye; brother, Miller and granddaughter, Kyrstal.
He is survived by daughter, Nancy Hoppenstedt (George); daughter, Joy Wells; granddaughters, Michelle Wells, Natalie Payne (Ethan), Madeline Hoppenstedt, and Lydia Hoppenstedt; grandson, Jonathan Hoppenstedt, and great-grandchildren, Lily Bowlds, Octavia Penner and Rylie Payne.
A Funeral Service will be 1:00PM, Friday, July 27, 2018 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Rev. Cliff Herring, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 11:00AM to service time at the funeral home.
