Sallie Lee (Jarrell) Wade, 85, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at her home. She was born on June 23, 1936, in Joliet, Illinois to the late Curtis F. and Odeal Camille (Schieffer) Jarrell.
Sallie was a Registered Nurse for over 35 years and retired from Deaconess Hospital. She was a competitive bridge player, a member of the Evansville Duplicate Bridge Club, and a Ruby Life Master and teacher. Sallie, along with her husband were avid travelers, including cruises in the Atlantic, Caribbean, Pacific, Mediterranean and Alaska. Her greatest joy were family vacations. She was a very loving wife and proud of her sons and grandsons. Sallie’s good friends brought her much joy in life.
She is preceded in death by parents; and brother, James C. Jarrell.
Sallie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Calvin “Cal” N. Wade; sons, Brian G. Wade (Angela) and Jeffrey N. Wade (Rachelle); grandsons, Hunter N. Wade and Grant A. Wade; brother, Curtis F. Jarrell; sister, Elizabeth JoAnne Allen; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Tim Gerbig. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
