She was a graduate of Central High School and the University of Evansville. After graduation, she taught in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1975 from Helfrich Park School. Ruth spent the last eight years of her life at Angel River, now Kindred Transitional Care.
