He graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1956 and then enlisted in the USAF and was stationed at Manzano Base in Albuquerque, NM. Ron took a great deal of pride in the work he produced in his 30 years with Evansville Natural Stone/Locust Hill Monuments. He was a lifelong member of Evansville Athletic Club, and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed bowling, softball, horseshoes, bingo and playing cards. He also enjoyed following his grandchildren’s activities. Ron was known for his sense of humor, quick wit, knowledge of trivia, and his penchant for writing poetry in his own unique style.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Weidner) Frank; parents; and sisters, Sharon Ross, Shirley Haefner and Sheila Collins.
He is survived by his daughters, Janine Galster of Nashville and Stacy (Jim) Ferrari of Evansville; son, Keith Frank of Evansville; grandchildren, Amber, Jena, Adam, Taylor, Austin and Avery; sister, Sandy (Bill) Oschner; brother, Gene (Pat) Frank.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 17, 2015, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 418 N. Wabash Avenue, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at Alexander West Chapel.
