Bob was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert D. and Violet T. (Becker) Wildt. Brother-in-law Kenneth "Kenny" Kissinger, and Sister-in-law Suzanne "Susie" Wildt. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Barbara L Wildt (Williams). Children Gary L Wildt, Evansville, IN, Cathy L Wildt (Jeffery Francisco), Batesville, IN, Jeffrey A Wildt (Lauri), Evansville, IN. Grandchildren Jordon Wildt, Michael (Angie) Symonds, Justin Symonds, Nicholas (Ashley) Francisco, and Douglas Francisco. Five great grandchildren.
Bob graduated from Central High School, Evansville, IN, in 1953. Bob served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant from 1954 to 1958. He was stationed in Barksdale AFB, LA where he met the love of his life, Barbara. They were married on January 18, 1958 in Louisiana, the same day of his Air Force honorable discharge. Bob was an electrician by trade and retired from Iglehearts Bros. division of General Foods in Evansville, IN after 30 years of service.
Bob enjoyed fishing, golf, baseball and sports in general. Bob's favorites included the St Louis Cardinals, AJ Foyt, Jeff Gordon, Arnold Palmer, Larry Bird, Bob Gibson, Don Mattingly, Peyton Manning and Jordan Spieth. While he had his favorites over the years, he was open to watching the best talents in sports. Most of all he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He especially enjoyed taking his grandson Jordon to his junior golf tournaments throughout the midwest, and continued watching Jordon through his high school and collegiate golfing years. Bob was also known to be the most gifted handiman as he could build and fix anything and everything.
Donations can be made in Bob's honor to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Evansville), and the American Macular Degeneration Foundation (AMDF).
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN, officiated by Pastor J.D. Rose. Entombment will follow in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, June 16, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday, 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
