Randy Peay, 72, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 8, 2021. He was born December 22, 1948, in Huntsville, Kentucky, to the late Albert and Wanda (DeArmond) Peay.
Randy graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in 1967, then went on to serve in the US Marine Corps as a 0331 Machine Gunner. Randy started his career at L&N Railroad, which later merged with CSX Railroad, where he retired after 33 years of service. He was an avid Poker player, horse racing fan “Go Baby Go,” and a huge sports enthusiast, especially, IU Basketball. Randy was a compassionate, caring person and a devoted family man that was loved by many. Randy was a lifetime member of the FOP and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4023.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rollie and Dennis Peay; and brother-in-law, Bob Francis.
Randy is survived by his sons, Travis Peay (Vicki) and Andrew Peay (Willie); daughters, Tiffany and Shelly Peay; grandchildren, Tommy Dossett, Tyler Peay (Makenzie), Trevor Werner (Jesselle), Trenton Werner, Donavon Cabell (Katie), Makayla Cabell, Grant Cabell, Marcus Peay, Lauren Peay, Alex Peay, Zach Phillips and Brianna Phillips; great grandchildren, Connor, Tate, Luka, Valerie and Lily; sister, Angie Francis; and brother, Clarence “CA” Peay; former spouse, Carol Wright; niece, Amy Jarvis and nephew, Billy Jines; great nephew, Kyle Haynes and his beloved grand dog, Jakey Peay.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Heritage Hospice nurses, Nancy and Jamie.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tyrone Edwards, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
