Paul graduated from Central High School in the 1954 Centennial class. He enlisted in the Navy and served on the Light Cruiser U.S.S. Worchester. He lived and worked in Los Angeles for a few years before moving back to Evansville. He worked and retired from Capital Paper/Bunzl USA after 38 years.
He was a great follower of sports and is a big fan of the Aces, Hoosiers, Cardinals and Colts. His favorite pastime was golf. He also loved music, particularly Jazz, Big Band and 40’s and 50’s ballads.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Kenny Craig; his grandparents, Matilda and Elza Smith; and his grandson, Shaun May.
Paul is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marilyn; son, Michael (Sherry) Pennington; daughter, Patti (Dallas) May; stepson, Steve (Missy) Lacy; grandchildren, Nick, Zach, Stephanie, Tyler, Amber, Mandy (Jared), Brittney (Patrick), Brooke (Kyle), Amanda, Kate; and seven great grandchildren.
He was extremely fond of all 10 of the dogs that were such an important part of his life.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00-Noon Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor James Well, with entombment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
