Paul served in the US Army until 1948. He graduated from Indiana University in 1952.
He worked for L.S. Ayres for 30 years and afterwards went into sales for Busler Enterprises, and finally retired from Sandleben Pharmacy.
Paul led a very active life, which included running, swimming, biking, gardening, and always visiting the YMCA. He was a sports enthusiast with a special interest in IU sports and Cincinnati Reds baseball. Above all else, Paul loved going to Ellis Park to “feed” the ponies. His love for life was unmatched.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Shirley Jasper; brother, Norval Jasper; and sisters, Miriam Wolf and Dorothy Smith.
He is survived by his daughters, Becky Sylvester of Anderson, IN and Patty Rickard of Evansville; sons, Tom Kell of Fountaintown, IN, Kevin Kell of Indianapolis, IN, Mark Kell and Bob Kell both of Evansville; grandchildren, Joshua Sylvester, Katie Sylvester, Hollie Newsham, Matthew Rickard, Ryan Kell, Alan Kell, Chris Kell, Yolanna Kell, Taryn Brown, Brady Kell, Jessica Kell, and Jeremy Kell; great grandson, Nikolas Newsham-White; and numerous others.
Services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Friends may visit Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the cemetery.
