He retired from Whirlpool and was a WW II Navy Veteran and member of VFW 1114. He loved woodworking, making furniture, crafts, working in the yard, and caring for animals.
He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Harper.
Oliver is survived by his Wife, Mary (Weibert) Harper of 63 years; daughters, Debbie Chattin (Gary) of Newburgh, IN, Donna Scales (Brad) of Evansville, IN, Becky Snyder of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Jake Kelley (Brenna); Carl Jr, Tony, Jesse, and Shannon Snyder; Shvonna Ross, and Shannon Clark; great granddaughter, Evey Kelley; sister, Delores Farmer.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Alexander Memorial Park officiated by Celebrant Carrie Hatchett. Friends may visit 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Alexander West Chapel.
