Nancy Elaine Golden of Evansville, IN passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022 at the age of 77. She was born on August 3,1945 in Evansville, IN to the late James Robert "Bob" and Wanda (Bowen) Sallee, where she grew up on the west side of Evansville, IN.
Nancy graduated from St. Anthony School in 1953. She worked a a full time wife and mother. Nancy, also, worked part time at Braun's Nursing Home on First Avenue. She was actively involved in The Owls Club, VFW Post 1114 and Jacobsville Neighborhood Community. Nancy was Elvis's number one loyal fan. Her family always came first. Nancy enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time at their vacation home at Yellowbanks.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, of 57 years. Lee E. Golden; and brother, James "Jim" Sallee; son, Robert Earl Golden; grandson, Liam Golden; niece, Melissa Best.
She is survived by her children, Earl Robert "Robby" Golden (Celesta), Michael Lee Golden (Susie Q), and, Lisa Ann Skelton (Monty); sisters, Linda VanWay and Peggy Rettig; eight grandchildren, Amber, Dustin, Samantha, Misty, Timothy, Shelby, Loreli and Adrian; and eleven great grandchildren, Trinity, Callie, Trey, Sadie, McKenzie, Cage, Gracelynn, Hayden, Brooklyn, and twin great grandsons due any day now.
The family would like to thank Celesta Golden and Tammy Golden for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days. Celesta and Tammy Golden cared for Nancy until home care was no longer an option. They were a blessing.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN 47712, officiated by Rev. Clarence Horton. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
