Mike was born in Evansville, Indiana on February 18, 1953, to the late Leo Martin and Jamie Rita (McLain) Crane. He was a 1972 graduate of Reitz High School. He retired as a foreman from Industrial Contractors and was a member of Laborers Local 561, Amvets Post 84 and the River Bend Association.
Mike was a very kind and generous person who loved animals, especially his dog, Lance. Mike had several dogs over the years and each one held a special place in his heart as well. Mike had many friends and a great sense of humor that brought fun to those around him. He was affectionately called by the nickname “Cranky” by many of his friends. Mike passed away doing what he loved and will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Cindy Crane, whom he loved dearly.
Mike is survived by his sisters, Roberta “Bobbi” Crane (Tom Arvidson), Sue Ann Crane; sister-in-law, Lori Barnhart (Mike); close family friend, Tommy Dossett; nieces, Laura Cova (Sky), Amber Arvidson; nephews, Indra Crane, Tashi Crane and Woody Marin as well as a great nephew, Ravn Lee Cova.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 2800 St. Phillips Rd., Evansville, IN.
