He was a 1964 graduate of F.J. Reitz High School and had a Bachelor’s of Art Cumlaude from the University of Evansville and Master of Science degree from the University of Kentucky. Melvin was a staff chemist at Potter and Brumfield and after his retirement worked at Walther’s Golf and Fun.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Carolyn Sensmeier.
He is survived by brother, Paul Sensmeier (Susie) of Christiansburg, VA; brother, Ronnie Sensmeier of West Lafayette, IN; brother, Art Sensmeier (Patti); sister, Mary Ann Sensmeier; nephew, Mark Sensmeier (Laura) of Prescott, AZ; niece, Lynda Oleksuk (Dick) of Blacksburg, VA niece, Katie Sensmeier; niece, Kara Grangier (Matt); niece, Korie Nellis; niece, Kelli Bovenkerk (Jason), and several great nieces and nephews who he really loved.
A Funeral Service will be 11:00AM, Friday, February 23, 2018 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Johnny Kincaid, with burial in Salem Church Cemetery. Friends may visit 3:00 to 7:00PM, Thursday, February 22, 2018 and Friday from 10:00AM to service time at the funeral home.
