Mary L. Joyce

Mary was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost at Christ Temple, Marion, IN under the late Bishop W.M. Holder and leadership of Elder David H. Birchett. She was a member of Christian Tabernacle Church. Mary loved God, and was called into the ministry and attended Aenon Bible College. She would often speak about training up a child.

She was a wonderful homemaker and mother. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Matthew Joyce. Together they raised four children and taught their family to love God. We are so grateful for our mother. She was the best and was beautiful inside and out. Mary loved to wear sparkling things. She loved her family and we loved our dear mother and will miss her.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Sharon Joyce, Pamela Joyce, Melanie Mickens (Eric, Sr.) of Pontiac, MI and Cynthia Joyce; grandsons, Eric, Jr. , (Maria) and Armani Mickens of Pontiac, MI; great grandchildren, Darla Mickens and Ethan Mickens of Pontiac, MI; sister, Verna Rogers of Evansville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Christian Tabernacle Church, 1041 Washington Avenue, officiated by Pastor Wayne Harris, Sr., with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. The family requests masks to be worn during visitation and service.
