Marion “Pete” Hunter passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020. Pete was born on December 2, 1953 and was a lifelong resident of Evansville, IN. He was a truck driver and served in the United States Marine Corps. Pete loved to help his family and friends, his generosity and kindness saw no bounds. Pete was also an avid collector of antiques and coins. He loved horse racing and going to Ellis Park to watch the horses run. His love for horses led him to become a “Hot Walker” for many years. Pete also loved to vacation at the beach, fish and play with his grand kids.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents Franklin Shirley and Willa Mae Hunter, his first wife Claudette Hunter and his brothers Michael and Rick Hunter.
He is survived by his wife Donna Hunter; daughter Melissa Hunter (Mike); son Shawn Brumley; sister Melinda Ramsey (Chris); three grandchildren Desirae Duran, Brayden Fenwick and Dalton Brumley; four great grandchildren; nephews and nieces; Ricky (Stephanie), Jesse (April) and Tory (Becky) Hunter, Haley, Jaya and Austin Ramsey, Mercedes and Leah Hunter, Aaron Hines (Michelle).
Pete’s celebration of life and memorial service will be at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Ave., on Saturday, August 22, 2020. The celebration of life will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm followed by his memorial service. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY, where the American Legion Honor Guard will conduct military rites.
