Margaret Thena (Oakley) Winstead

Margaret worked as a cook at Bernardin, Inc for 35 years and previously at White School. She was one of the oldest living members of New Bethel Southern Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed embroidery and traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Winstead; daughter, Hilda Wolf; parents Oscar and Era Oakley; brother, Cletus Oakley; and sister, Metabeth Oakley.

Margaret is survived by sons, Ralph C. Winstead (Joan), David O. Winstead (Barbara); son-in-law, Albert P. Wolf; grandsons, Richard A. Wolf (Linda), Mark Winstead (Sarah); granddaughter, Julie L. Winstead; great-grandchildren; Rick Wolf (Tiffanie), Kimberly Andrews (Matt), Jennifer Julian (Matt), Jonathan Winstead, Addison Winstead; great-great-grandchildren, Connor, Cayden and Kiley Wolf, Haley and Dylan Andrews, Vincent Julian, and Baby Julian expected in December; step-grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; sisters, Allie Ray Tanzler, Geraldine Brown; brother, Kenneth Oakley (Joyce); nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Parkview Care Center and Dr. Scott Uloth for their loving care.

Services will be 10:00AM, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Rev. Terry Gamblin with graveside services at 12:00 Noon at Slaughters Cemetery in Slaughters, KY. Friends may visit, Monday, July 15, 2013 from 2:00PM until 8:00PM and Tuesday from 9AM until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to New Bethel Southern Baptist Church, 4301 Broadway Ave., Evansville, IN 47712.
