Margaret Jane Herrmann

She was a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church, was a Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher. She had worked at the Evansville Store, Stewart’s, and retired from Sears in the House Wares Department. Margaret and her husband, Floyd, fostered more than 300 children. She enjoyed gardening, reading her Bible, and she helped show many people the way to the Lord.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd W. Herrmann, Jr., in January, 2008.

She is survived by her son, David A. Herrmann (Lisa Siddons) of Evansville; daughter, Linda Sumner (Robert) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Jason Shawler (Crystal) of Louisville, KY, Stephanie Shaw (Eric) of Spencer, IN, and Amanda Jane Herrmann (fiancé, Travis Miller) of Floyd Knobs, IN; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Eric Martin, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
