She graduated from Brown High School in 1943 and attended Lockyear’s Business College. Loretta retired as cafeteria manager from Scott Elementary School where she enjoyed working 33 years. She was a lifelong member of Centenary United Methodist Church, exercised in the Family Life Center, and attended Good Neighbor lunches. One of her first jobs in Evansville was working as a bookkeeper at Wesselman’s Grocery Store.
Loretta was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading, playing cards, dominoes, scrabble, and crosswords puzzles. She was a devoted wife, mother, and daughter-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Coulson; son, Billy Coulson; granddaughter, Krista Coulson; mother-in-law, Myrtle Coulson; sister, Edna Kirsch; and two brothers, Bernie and Harold Kleinschmidt.
Loretta is survived by her granddaughter, Nicole Coulson; five nieces and one nephew.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Centenary United Methodist Church with Rev. George Purnell officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
