Obituary of Linda M. Brown
Linda Brown peacefully passed through the gates of life at Deaconess Hospital on December 28, 2020. Linda was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 15, 1949 to the late William Kitzinger, and Sylvia (Inkenbrandt Kitzinger) Reutter. Linda was a lifetime resident and proud “West Sider.” Linda previously resided on Koch avenue and was most recently a resident at Park Terrace Village where she had many friends and enjoyed socializing, reading and Bingo! Linda was a graduate of F.J Reitz High School and spent her life helping people as a skilled Nurses Aid at Deaconess Hospital and she also worked at Pine Haven Nursing home. She was a talented baker pleasing people with their special orders and retired from the Bakery Dept of Schnuck’s Grocery. Linda was a true animal lover and absolutely loved her fur babies, Spencer, Gunther Eugene and Girdy Mae, and always enjoyed her visits with her “fur baby sister” Gia. At her home she would find squirrels in the window during the day and Racoons in the windows at night who all knew a human friend was inside with a snack for them. Linda was a very quick-witted jokester who would always sit on the edge of her seat waiting for an opportunity to make you laugh, and if you laughed she laughed even harder. Linda never let circumstances dampen her sense of optimism, her vivacious spirit and love of adventure. She was always planning for an adventurous trip, and hoping for a new opportunity to see the world. Linda enjoyed the beach and a cocktail during visits to the coast with her little sister, April. Never was there a stranger to her whom she could not strike up a conversation with. Linda had a love for pretty things like flowers, perfume, jewelry and vibrant colors. She always dressed to the nines, had her make up applied nicely, and her hair was always fixed nice even on the days she may not have felt well. Linda was a beautiful lady both inside and out, and her spirit never dimmed. Linda is survived by her mother and best friend, Sylvia Reutter of Evansville; sister, April (Reutter) Bennett and husband, Buddy of Currituck, NC; brothers, Eric Reutter of Evansville, Edward “Eddie” Kitzinger and wife, Sherry of Evansville, David Kitzinger of Macon, Georgia; aunts, Majorie (Flowers) Inkenbrandt, and Carmen (Inkenbrandt) McAtee of Evansville. She was especially close to nephews, Beau Bennett and Cody Reutter, and she is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, William Kitzinger; stepfather, E. “John” Reutter; grandparents, Ralph and Marie Inkenbrandt, and Clara Kitzinger. Also, predeceased by spouse, “Red.” The family would like this opportunity to remind people that wearing masks and exercising pandemic precautions is a gift to the elderly, the vulnerable and those most susceptible to illness. Special thanks to the Covid ICU staff of Deaconess Hospital Midtown for their special care provided to Linda and support to the family. Also, thank you to the many care givers and friends of Park Terrace Village where she resided. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2020 at Tupman Cemetery with live streaming at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA. Friends may visit 5-7 p.m. on Friday, January 1, 2020 at Alexander West Chapel. Condolences may be offered at www.AlexanderWestChapel.com.
