Lester was the founder and owner of Moore Engineering and Production Company and was an independent oil producer. He graduated from the University of Illinois and was an avid Fighting Illini fan. Lester was a US Navy Veteran and lifelong member of Methodist Temple.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Moore in 2017; and his parents.
Lester is survived by his daughters, Leslie Hyland (Mike), Melinda Sharp (Jimmy), Alyson Ross (Bennett); grandchildren, Jennifer Kemling, Jeff Hyland, Stuart Davis, Jon Hyland, Jacob Ross, and Sam Ross; great grandchildren, Payton, Carter, Cash, Amelia; brothers, Leroy Moore (Betty), Chip Moore (Wilma); nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Methodist Temple, 2109 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Rev. Andy Payton, with a graveside service 12:30 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Ellery, IL. Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
