Obituary of Larry Wayne Taylor
Larry Wayne Taylor, 72, of Evansville, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023. He was born September 24, 1950 in Evansville to the late James and Mary Emogene (Bishop) Taylor. He served his country in the National Guard for seven years. Larry retired from Cintas in 2012, formerly Mechanics Laundry and Supply, after a 30 plus year career. Larry enjoyed playing golf, boating, playing cards, horse races, fishing and karaoke. He enjoyed spending weekends camping with his family at the lake. He liked to travel and loved spending time in Florida with his family. Larry loved his family, especially being a Grandpa. In his retirement, he sang karaoke at local nursing homes as “Oldies by Larry." Larry was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Hubert and Ella Thompson; sisters-in-law, Judy Thompson and Mary Lambert; and brother-in-law, Jack Lambert. Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Stella (Thompson) Taylor; son, Chad Taylor (Lori); daughter, Tiffany Blanchard (Nic); grandchildren, River, Gavin, Layla, Ashlynn, Jullian and Kaylie; siblings, Michael Taylor (Karen), Sharon Like (Randy) and Lori Clegg (Scott); brothers-in-law, JR Thompson (Jo) and Harlan Thompson; and nieces and nephews, Mark Lambert, Vicky Schmitt, Debbie Decker, Robbie Thompson, Sandy Stabenfeldt, Stacy Lambert, Todd Like, Cory Like, Derek Myers, Mindy Wallace, Brandon Taylor and Vanessa Wissner. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2023 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Rev. Chris Millay, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Family and friends may visit 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 681405, Indianapolis, IN 46256.
