Dennis was a go-getter that started his day in meditation on how to make it all happen that day. He definitely was not afraid of a challenge. He was a man with a heart of gold that was available to anyone for any reason at any time. He truly listened to people so he could understand them. Dennis respected and loved himself and shared that with everyone. He lived his life peacefully, caring and to the fullest. He was trustworthy, a man of his word, and a man you could always count on.
Dennis was a great story teller that always revolved around the car at that time. He loved to jump in the car and go, but only after a full detail. His smile was the type of smile that would warm your soul and his laughter seemed ageless. Every animal that was around Dennis loved him immediately. It was a sign of true internal peace. He also had the ability to take a vision and make it reality for others, a true sign of selflessness. Dennis was a strong, confident, peaceful, loving man.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Dennis Gates, Sr. and his grandparents, Emerson and Dorothy Lindy and W. Frank and Wanda Gates.
Dennis is survived by his partner, Bryan “Turtle” Monroe; mother, Carol Gates; sister, Lisa Smith (Gary); nephews, Cory and Cameron Smith (Madison).
