Keith B. Smith, 75, of Evansville passed away on Monday February 21, 2022 at home surrounded by his wife and daughters after a short 6 month battle with glioblastoma. He was born January 7, 1947 in Evansville to the late Bill Smith and Grace Pfender.
Keith was co-owner with his family of Creative Craftsman where he did metal fabrication. He retired in February 2021 after over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and ballroom dancing with his wife. Keith went on 48 cruises and liked creating things with his 3D printer. He was an avid sports fan, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, IU basketball, and Nascar. He loved being with family and rarely missed any of his grandkids’ events.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Vicki Smith; mother, Grace Pfender; step father, Tom Pfender; father, Bill Smith; great granddaughter, Violet Dawson; and father-in-law, Griffin Turpin.
Keith is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rita Smith; daughters, Lori Baehl (Mike),
Debbie Cardwell (Tom Seib), and Julie Tilsworth (Todd); step-son, Robert Lang (Pom); grandchildren, Shelbi Dawson (Drew), McKenna Stahl (Mark Ventura), Seth Brown (Jessica), Autumn Tilsworth (Cameron Brandenburg), Madison Cardwell, Avery Tilsworth, and Ashtyn Tilsworth; siblings, Billy Smith (Elvie), Phyllis Lehman, Lauranell Spece (Tom), Kristi Banks (Russell), and Melody Waggoner (Matt); and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank their neighbors and friends, especially Lauren Dill, for all of their wonderful help and care.
Friends and family may visit Thursday February 24, 2022 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Dane Gray, will be held Friday February 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.
