Katherine Oletia Spence

Katherine worked for many years at The Farmer’s Daughter restaurant and she was a housekeeper at Deaconess Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and has been a member of the Bible Center Cathedral for over fifty years. Katherine lived on her own for 92 years before becoming a resident at the Good Samaritan. She was known for her sweetness and kindness and was beloved by all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Judith Ann Rye and Howard Vincent Rye.

Katherine is survived by her son, Rodney Spence, of Cathedral City, California; grandsons, Howard Rye, of Corunna, Michigan, and Joseph Rye, of Clio, Michigan; great granddaughters, Megan and Macey Rye, of Corunna, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, February 9, 2018, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue with Entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the funeral home.
