Juanita H. (Marsch) Bowlds Powell, 94, of Evansville, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016, at Heritage Center. She was born December 12, 1921, in Lewisport, KY to the late Charles and Myrtle (Chappell) Marsch.
She was an avid golfer and a member of Fendrich and Howell Women's Golf Club. Juanita enjoyed gardening, bowling, crocheting, embroidering, playing bingo, and loved to grow roses. She loved to play guitar with her dad who played the fiddle. Juanita was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Church. Above all, she was a very good mother.
Juanita was preceded in death by her first husband, James Bowlds; second husband, Howard Powell, Sr.; daughters, Lois Garrison and Brenda Barnett; sons, James Bowlds, Howard Powell, Jr., and Charles Ray Powell; and her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Herschel L. (Sandy) Bowlds and David (Debi) Powell; daughter, Dorothy (Mike) Sugg; and stepchildren, Larry Powell, Sonny Baker and Amber Stuart. Juanita is also survived by over 30 grandchildren, over 38 great-grandchildren, and 12 great, great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Center Harbor Unit and Heritage Hospice for their care.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Fr. Ted Tempel, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
