Joe graduated from F. J. Reitz High School in 1945. He worked for Chrysler Corporation. Joe had a love for cars and opened Logsdon's Conoco station in 1960 on W. Franklin St. where he serviced cars for over 20 years. He finished his career with Moutoux Machine. Joe always had a love for the Lord and was active in church where he held a position as a deacon and led praise and worship for local Southern Baptist churches.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Agnes Logsdon; his wife of 42 years, Rachel (Hagensieker); brothers, Virgis and Patrick Logsdon; sister, Norleen Hart. Surviving are his brother, Louis Logsdon; his longtime friend and caregiver, Doris Goad; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Hamilton Pointe; Pinehaven; and Deaconess Hospice for all of their time and compassion in these last few months of his life.
Services will be 10:00AM Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Logsdon with burial in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and Wednesday from 9:00AM until service time at the funeral home.
