John Ivan Hurt, 68, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, at his home. He was born May 28, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Ivan and Leona (Weibert) Hurt.
John served two tours during Vietnam with the Marine Corp, receiving a Purple Heart. He graduated from Mackey High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Allen; and daughter, Amanda.
John is survived by his son, Wesley Ivan Hurt (Katie); three granddaughters; brother, Ron; and sisters, Karen and Robin; and many loved ones.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, officiated by Rev. Robert Baggett.
