She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church for over 64 years, had taught Sunday school, and was active in the Awana Ministry for several years. She loved crossword puzzles, playing cribbage with her grandsons, watching hummingbirds, and Judge Judy. Most of all, she loved her family.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, David E. Tevault; second husband, A.G. Payne; and brother, Edward Jennings.
She is survived by her sister, Bobette Wood; children, David (Judy) Tevault of Belair, MD, Robert (Susan) Tevault of The Philippines, Barbara (Michael) Work of Evansville, Mark (Vicki) Tevault of Boonville, Janet Andresen of Evansville, and Roger (Sharon) Tevault of Tumwater, WA; grandchildren, Neil and Nancy, Beth and Anna, Michael and Mandi, Lauri, Dan, Brian and Will, and Brandi and Donald; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, officiated by Rev. Maurice Melton, with entombment to follow. Friends may visit Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue.
