Joan Carol (Schimmel) Moore, 88, of Evansville, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020. She was born on February 22, 1932, her mother’s 30th birthday and George Washgington’s 200th birthday, in Indianapolis to Frank and Lucille (Yule) Schimmel.
She was a graduate of Bosse High School. Joan had owned and operated Biff Burger in Evansville. She had dual church memberships at St. John’s East UCC and St. John’s UCC Downtown. Joan was a member of White Shrine and Daughters of the Nile. She and her husband enjoyed traveling. Her dream was to travel the world with the love of her life and husband, George, which she accomplished.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Julie M. Shofstall; and aunt, Marguerite W. Peterson.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, George D. Moore; daughter, Laura Lou Little (Chuck); grandchildren, Heather Carter, Jessica Shofstall, and John Shofstall; and great-grandson, Stellan Lewis.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:35 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Oak Hill Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Anisa Evans officiating. Entombment will follow. Friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or St. John’s East UCC.
