James Erwin Robinson (Jim), of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018. He was born on April 23, 1922 in Selvin, IN to the late Otis and Hallie (Siebe) Robinson.
James served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Eastminister Presbyterian Church in Evansville. James was a graduate of Lockyear Business College and the University of Evansville. He worked at American General, retiring in 1986. James served as Treasurer of the Operating Subsidiaries and Manager of General Accounting. He served on the Allocations committee of the United Way for 10 years, and was a past member of Toastmasters International and Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE).
James enjoyed hunting and golf.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Mary Lou Robinson of Overland Park KS; and, a sister, Doris Farmer.
James is survived by daughters; Cheryl Ferguson and Patricia Pitney (John) both of Overland Park, KS; grandson, Paul Pitney (Christina) of Wildwood, MO; three great-grandsons, Joshua, Nathan and Luke Pitney; brother, Robert Robinson (Esther); sister, Annabell Spradlin, both of Dale, IN; several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN, officiated by Rev. Dennis Davenport with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
