He graduated from Barrett High Scholl in Henderson and Ivy Tech State College, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. James was a Navy veteran and worked at Whirlpool and Swanson Nunn. He enjoyed square dancing, fishing, camping, travelling, building electronics and working on cars. He was known as a “jack of all trades”.
James is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jackie (Rupprecht) Ivie; sons, Patrick of Evansville and Bart Ivie of Cedargrove, TN and brother, Frank M. Ivie of Evansville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday November 14, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 618 East Virginia Street, officiated by Fr. Jay Davidson, with entombment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 2500 Mesker Park Drive, where military rites will be performed. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with a memorial service at 7:00 PM, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road and Saturday from 9:00 AM to service time at the church.
