

He worked at Ideal Milk Company when he first moved to Evansville. Jack worked many years as a mechanic in Commercial Trucking and had worked drilling and bringing in oil wells. He was the owner/operator of Jack DeLap & Son excavating and trucking for over 15 years. He did snow removal for many years. Jack also sanded, painted, and restored cars, trucks and tractors.
He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed maintaining the church property.
Jack was a US Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Donna DeLap who died on September 15, 2013; brother, Kenneth DeLap and sister, Kathryn Griffith (Wilbourn).
Jack is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Statham (fiancée, Jan Osterud); son, Greg DeLap (girlfriend, Polly Hardsock); and grandchildren, Alexandra and Andrew Statham.
Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Richard Helzerman, with entombment in Park Lawn Mausoleum. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
