Herbert was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served in the Ceremonial Guard in Washington DC. He retired from G.E. as a truck driver.
He liked to play chess, work crossword puzzles, and watch movies. Herbert was known for his great sense of humor.
Herbert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Letitia Robertson; son, Herbert III (Amy); daughter, Heather Lyons (Richard) of Glasgow, Scotland; granddaughters, Scarlett Robertson, Erica Golike, and Summer Lyons; one great-grandson, Mason Harn; sister, Debra Hape (Steve) of Cordova, TN; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and Callie the cat.
Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 1, 2010, at Alexander West Chapel with burial at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
