Helen M. Waters, 99, of Evansville, passed away Monday evening, February 26, 2018, at Bell Oaks Place in Newburgh. She was born September 2, 1918, in Springerton, IL, to the late Edward E. and Mabel (Kennett) Hessler.
Helen moved to Mt. Vernon, IN when she was young and married Carl Waters in 1936. She was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and loved traveling. At age 88, she visited Paris with family and loved reminiscing about her travels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Waters, in 2004; siblings, George, Victor, Beuford, Vertis and Edward Hessler, Emily Joyce Reisinger, Betty Scherrtz and Jennie Heckman; and her parents.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Sharon Crayner (Randall), Brenda Hulsey and Karleen Wink (Doug), all of Evansville; grandchildren, Chris and Eric Crayner, Graham and Dr. Logan Wink; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 9:30 AM Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Alexander West Chapel, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends visited Friday from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Saturday from 8:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
