Helen was a graduate of Columbia Grade School and from Central High School in 1940. She loved to travel near and far including Alaska, Canada, England and East Germany. She was a member of many clubs and organizations including; Den Mother Pack 6, President of West Height’s PTA, Life guard, sewing for USO, United Federation Doll Club, 4 Freedom Doll Club, Westwood Garden Club, Dulcimer Club, Raintree Quilters Guild, Yanni Fan Club (oldest member), Germania Manachor, Iditarod, Red Hat Society and TOPs. She was an avid collector of dolls, Hummel, Stieff, Olzesk and Schoenhut. Helen was a huge supporter of Life Choices, State Hospital Christmas, Samaritan’s Purse, St. Labre School, St. Johns School, Audubon Nature Society, and St. Jude Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Caroline (Callie) McKenney and Phillip Crofts; brother, Jack Crofts; and husband, Charles Spencer.
Helen is survived by her children; Richard Hahn (Jane), Daniel Hahn (Emily), and Mary Hahn-Wright (Troy); grandchildren, Rebekah Fisher (Tabatha), Rachael Fisher-Houghton (Bobby) Jon Fisher (Bree) and Andy Hahn; and great-grandchildren, Destiny, Silas, Grabriel, Freya, Sarah, Hannah, Kyle, and Juliette.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor David Schwambach, with burial to follow in Tupman Cemetery. Friends may visit on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
