George was born on November 25, 1930 to Edward and Vieva (Maulding) Kohler. He married the love of his life, Marge (Wilson) Kohler, on October 7, 1950. Together they raised one son and four daughters, who would each tell you that they unequivocally had the best parents anyone could ever hope for. George lovingly cared for his wife, Marge, through her lengthy illness.
George was a skilled woodworker and had the ability to fix anything that his kids broke. He was a very hard worker and was a true and faithful friend to many. He loved tending his garden, growing and sharing vegetables and flowers with others. He took his family on many wonderful vacation trips and countless camping excursions. He was happiest when he was outdoors and with his family. On his 80th birthday, George fulfilled a lifelong dream by taking a hot air balloon ride. After his retirement from Alcoa in 1993, he and Marge enjoyed spending time at their Wabash River camp with their children and grandchildren. He loved creating adventures for his family, such as impromptu picnics in the snow. George loved the Lord, lived out his faith in how he loved and treated others, and was a faithful member of Salem Church of Darmstadt.
He is survived by his son, Larry Kohler (Joanne); daughters, Linda Singer (Roger), Sally Roby, Susan Cravens (Jeff), and Donna Cravens (Greg); grandchildren, Craig Kohler, Chris Kohler, Jeff Kohler, Alex Kohler, Chad Singer, Sarah Singer, Elizabeth Boyle, Jesse Roby, Andy Cravens, Seth Cravens, Joshua Cravens, and Jordan Cravens; several great grandchildren; and his brother, Norman Kohler.
