Genevieve Ford

Genevieve graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and Indiana State Teachers College. She received her Master’s Degree from Indiana University. She taught in New Harmony Schools and North Posey School District and taught in Halifax Nova Scotia for 3 summers. Genevieve retired in 1979 from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. She was a life member of Welborn Hospital Auxiliary, member of the Vanderburgh Chapter DAR, 80 year member of Eastern Star, member of Kappa, Kappa, Kappa and the White Shrine. She was a member of the Methodist Faith.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Anormallee Way and Katherine Roop.

She is survived by her sons, Larry Ford of Evansville and Daniel Ford of Tulsa, OK; 3 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. But the night sky got brighter by the addition of her star.

Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 pm Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714 with services to follow, the Reverend Mitch Gieselman officiating.

Entombment will be at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum.
