Francile H. Schauss, 88, of Evansville, beloved wife, mother and Nana, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017, surrounded by her precious family. She was born January 15, 1929, in Owensboro, KY, to the late Joseph and Lola (Hicks) Berry, and the granddaughter of Catherine Hicks.
She lived a life of faith, was a founding member of East Side Christian Church, and a member of Crossroads Christian Church. Francile attended Mississippi State College for Women and graduated from Lockyear Business College. She was a past president of the Plaza Park PTA and was instrumental in bringing the auditorium to the school. Francile was a member of the Kennel Club and worked at Sears for 18 years in security. She was a fan of the University of Evansville Aces and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Francile is survived by her husband and love of 67 years, Manfred W. Schauss; daughters, Lisa Berry (David) and Lynda (Eric); grandchildren, Kathryn (Jim), Susan (Aaron), Charles (Jayme), Alex, Abigail (Christian); great-granddaughters, Bella, Ava, and Ivie; and great-grandson, Aksel.
Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Paul Linge, with entombment in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
